Middletown Township’s Parks & Recreation Department offers more than 48 parks spread out over 42 square miles including many park locations that offer tennis and basketball courts, playground equipment, athletic fields and/or picnic areas. The Middletown parks system offers an ideal family friendly environment for outdoor activities and recreation.
Education:
Middletown has an extensive and successful public school district consisting of seventeen public schools, with a student population of more than 10,000. The district is made up of twelve K-5 Elementary Schools, three grade 6-8 middle schools and two high schools for grades 9-12.
Along with public education, Middletown Township is home to two private high schools. Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) is an all boys College preparatory school. Mater Dei High School is a four-year Catholic coeducational high school in the New Monmouth section.
Middletown also hosts a public magnet school, High Technology High School, which is located in the Lincroft section of town and is part of the Monmouth County Vocational School District.
There are also three private grammar schools, Saint Mary in New Monmouth, Saint Leo the Great School, and Oak Hill Academy in Lincroft.
